Accessibility
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA so every voter can use CityHallPass.
The site is built with standard, structured HTML so screen readers and keyboards can use it. It follows your device's light or dark setting and uses a typeface designed for low-vision readers. Pages are built to work on phones first.
If something on the site doesn't work for you, email [email protected] with the page and what went wrong, and we'll fix it or get you the information another way. We aim to reply within five business days.
Other languages
The site is written in English. Every page works with the translator built into Chrome and Safari, and names of people, government bodies and ballot measures are marked so the translator leaves them unchanged. A machine translation can contain errors; the English page and the official record it links to are what count. The steps are written out in four languages: Español, 한국어, 繁體中文, Tagalog.
Known limits
- The address lookups need JavaScript. Without it, the full lists of races, measures and neighborhood councils are still on the site.
- We link to official documents on government sites, many of them PDFs. Some are scans that screen readers can't read. Tell us which one you need and we'll describe what it says.
- Wide tables scroll sideways on small screens. Each one can be reached and scrolled with the keyboard.
For official election materials in other formats or languages, contact the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk or the LA City Clerk.
