On Oct. 7, 2026, the Los Angeles City Council's Housing Committee approved all 11 items on its agenda, the council files show (meeting). It approved as amended motions calling for a study of cutting or deferring City fees on small for-sale housing and a review of a Measure ULA exemption for nonprofits' property-holding subsidiaries; neither file had a committee report or tally as of Oct. 10. It approved new loan terms for 24 affordable units at two Los Angeles Family Housing properties 3-0, and the City Clerk scheduled that item for the Council on Oct. 13 (CF 26-1157). On Sept. 16 the committee approved, as amended, the Housing Department's request to release Round 2 of the Homes for LA affordable housing funding notice, which the Council adopted 13-0 on Sept. 22 (CF 25-0690-S1). At its Sept. 8 special meeting it approved, as amended, a contract of up to $102,270,320 with Genesis LA to administer the Small Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing Program (agenda). The Council adopted that report 14-0 on Sept. 16 with Amending Motion 5A, which added instructions for the Housing Department to report to the Council on program guidelines and on funding recommendations (CF 26-1179).
