Trade, Travel, and Tourism Committee

Updated

The Trade, Travel, and Tourism Committee of the Los Angeles City Council reviews the Airport and Harbor departments, the Convention Center, tourism and the Alameda Corridor and sends recommendations to the full Council, which makes the final decision (Council resolution, CF 26-2000). Members below took their seats Aug. 31, 2026 under the Council President's assignment letter.

Latest as of October 1, 2026

On Sept. 11 the committee approved all 19 items on its agenda (agenda). They included Sheila Lewis's appointment to the Board of Harbor Commissioners, which the Council confirmed 15-0 on Sept. 16, and a seventh amendment to the LAX terminal advertising concession with JCDecaux, which extends the term one year to Dec. 31, 2028 and which the Council adopted 11-0 on Sept. 29 (CF 13-1619-S4). The committee approved an amendment to the Pacific Battleship Center's USS Iowa permit under which the Harbor Department reimburses up to $4 million of construction costs for the Freedom of the Seas Park and Pavilion; the Council adopted it 11-0 on Sept. 29 (CF 12-0743, Council meeting). It also approved a Harbor Commission resolution asking the Council for an ordinance letting the board use alternative project delivery and competitive sealed proposals for the proposed Pier 500 container terminal; the Council had not acted on it as of Oct. 1 (CF 26-1128). Its Sept. 25 meeting was cancelled (agenda).
