6.1. Statement on the City’s plan for abandoned RVs
- What it asks: That the board approve a Community Impact Statement on CF 26-1399, about carrying out AB 647 in the City of Los Angeles for abandoned recreational vehicles on public streets and rights-of-way. The agenda does not say whether the statement would support or oppose the motion (agenda).
- The motion: It says AB 647, signed Sept. 30, 2026, lets the City dispose of abandoned RVs worth $4,000 or less instead of selling them at auction; the current threshold is $500. It asks the City Administrative Officer, with LADOT, the Police Department and the City Attorney, to start carrying out the law and report in 30 days on how RVs would be identified, valued and processed, and on any code or tow contract changes. It says the law takes effect Jan. 1, 2027 (motion).
- Who brought it: Traci Park, seconded by John S. Lee (CF 26-1399).
- What’s next: The motion was referred to the Council’s Public Safety Committee on Oct. 2, 2026 (CF 26-1399).

- What it asks: That the council co-host its annual “Santa’s Coming to Town” event with Council District 15 and the Los Angeles Fire Department on Dec. 14, 15 or 16 at 6 p.m. (agenda).
