Historic Cultural North Neighborhood Council

Published October 1, 2026 · Updated October 10, 2026

The Historic Cultural North Neighborhood Council covers Chinatown, El Pueblo, Solano Canyon and Victor Heights, just north of downtown Los Angeles, in Council Districts 1 and 14. Under the City's Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils, anyone who lives, works or owns property in the area is a stakeholder, as is anyone who declares a community interest there through a school, nonprofit, religious or other community group.

Latest as of October 10, 2026

The Historic Cultural North Neighborhood Council's board holds a special meeting on Oct. 19, 2026 at the Chinatown Branch Library; the council's meeting post says it is the monthly board meeting, rescheduled because of board scheduling conflicts with Día de los Muertos events, with the agenda pending as of Oct. 10, 2026. A separate post says the regular Oct. 26 meeting is canceled. The board's Sept. 28 agenda included a Request for Action letter to Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez, the City Council, Mayor Karen Bass, the City Attorney and the County District Attorney on public safety, traffic and infrastructure conditions in Victor Heights, and an LADOT update on the Sunset/Chavez Safety and Mobility Project in Chinatown (meeting page).
