From the minutes: At its special meeting on Sept. 2, 2026, the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners chose six Joy P. Atkinson Neighborhood Council Excellence Award winners in separate votes, each unanimous among the commissioners in the room: North Hollywood Northeast, Pacoima, Los Feliz, Historic Highland Park, Mid City and North Westwood (minutes; agenda). The Harbor Area submitted no nominations. Commissioners Chaidez and Wehbe were absent.
