South Los Angeles Area Planning Commission

Updated

The South Los Angeles Area Planning Commission is one of seven Area Planning Commissions in Los Angeles; each hears cases from its region, from certain smaller-scale projects to appeals. Its five commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council (CF 25-1200-S59), and it meets at the Council District 8 Constituent Service Center (Oct. 6, 2026 agenda).

Latest as of October 1, 2026

Since July 1 the Commission's only meetings not canceled were July 7 and Sept. 1. On July 7 it voted 4-0 to deny an appeal of the Zoning Administrator's denial of a request to move closing time from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. at a market and liquor store at 2115 W. Jefferson Blvd., according to its letter of determination mailed July 29. The Sept. 1 agenda listed officer elections and no cases. Its Oct. 6 meeting was canceled for lack of cases; the next is Oct. 20.
