City Council districts Council District 1, Council District 11

2069 N. Argyle Ave. rooftop wireless facility (CF 26-1415)

  • What it does: AT&T Mobility proposes an unmanned wireless facility with nine panel antennas on the roof of a five-story, 54-foot apartment building built in 1988. It would remove part of the rooftop solar panels in an 816-square-foot lease area. The conditional use allows 54 feet where the zone limit is 30 feet (City Planning response).
  • Who brought it: An abutting property owner filed the environmental appeal on Sept. 17, 2026. The appeal says the hillside site in a Very High Fire Severity Zone does not qualify for a Class 3 exemption and needs more review (City Planning response).
  • Earlier decisions: A Zoning Administrator approved the project on June 9, 2026. The Central Area Planning Commission denied an appeal and sustained that decision on Aug. 11 (City Planning response).
  • City Planning’s position: Staff say the rooftop work involves no grading, tree removal or new building, and that Argyle Avenue has a 45-foot paved roadway. They recommend the committee ask the Council to deny the appeal and adopt the Class 3 exemption (City Planning response).
  • Who it affects: The site is in the Hollywood Community Plan area in Council District 1 (City Planning response).
  • What’s next: Nov. 20, 2026 is the last day to act (CF 26-1415).

Venice Auxiliary Pumping Plant appeal (CF 26-0734-S1)

  • What it does: An appeal of the City Planning Commission’s approval of a two-story, 2,283-square-foot wastewater pumping plant and a surface parking lot on Hurricane Street and Esplanade in Venice. The applicant is the Department of Public Works and LA Sanitation and Environment (PLUM agenda, Oct. 27, 2026).
  • City Planning’s position: Staff recommend that the committee and Council deny the appeal (City Planning response).
  • History: The committee continued the appeal to Nov. 10, 2026, 3-0 with two members absent, at its Oct. 27 meeting (CF 26-0734-S1).
  • Who it affects: Council District 11, in the Venice Coastal Zone (CF 26-0734-S1).
