Candidate forum planning

Nico Ruderman of the Venice NC, chair of the ad hoc Candidate Forum Committee, reported tentative commitments or expressions of interest from candidates for Mayor, City Attorney and Senate District 24, and said the Mayor’s campaign manager had responded but needed to consult the campaign team. The committee had sent the campaigns five possible dates between Sept. 8 and Oct. 6. Josh Haskell of ABC7 agreed to moderate, ABC7 declined to broadcast the event, and no venue was set (minutes). The recap memo adds that UCLA could not sponsor and that the Senate forum may be held on Zoom (recap memo).
