Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council
The Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council covers Lake View Terrace, La Tuna Canyon and Shadow Hills, in the northeast San Fernando Valley foothills, in Council District 7; its bylaws divide the area into six election areas. Under the City's Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils, anyone who lives, works or owns property in the area is a stakeholder, as is anyone who declares a community interest there through a school, nonprofit, religious or other community group.

The Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council's Executive Committee and board meet jointly online on Oct. 13 on an agenda that lists a framework for the council's 2027 election, a discussion of officer elections and committee chairs, and the agenda for the next general board meeting, with no dollar amounts. The board's September 22 agenda listed the election of officers, a letter supporting continued operation of Whiteman Airport, a position on a conditional use permit for 10420 West Kurt Street, and grants of up to $1,500 for a Sunland Tujunga Forward Indigenous Day event and up to $1,000 for the Lake View Terrace Friends of the Library. A Whiteman Airport letter was also on its August 25 agenda.
