Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Councils
VANC is an independent alliance of the 34 San Fernando Valley neighborhood councils, founded in March 2003 and open to all elected NC board members and committee chairs. Its stated mission includes advocating before the City Council, Council committees, DONE and BONC for Valley NCs, and it posts sample letters and action items for NCs and residents.

The Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Councils' Oct. 8, 2026 meeting agenda listed an LADWP presentation on its LA100 plan and a talk by former Councilmember Dennis Zine on CF 26-1382, a motion to reactivate a proposed Community Borough System, and listed no motions or votes (agenda). Minutes were not posted on VANC's site as of Oct. 9, 2026, and the agenda set the next meeting for Nov. 12 on Zoom. VANC's Sept. 10 agenda listed two-minute talks by qualified candidates, a Van Nuys Airport Citizens Advisory Council speaker, a LAHSA homeless count update and LA28 events planned for the Sepulveda Basin. The Aug. 13 agenda included CF 26-0582, on moving City animal shelter operations to contractors.
