Northridge West Neighborhood Council
The Northridge West Neighborhood Council covers the part of Northridge between the 118 Freeway and Nordhoff Street, from Corbin Avenue east to Reseda Boulevard, in the San Fernando Valley and Council District 12. Under the City's Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils, anyone who lives, works or owns property in the area is a stakeholder, as is anyone who declares a community interest there through a school, nonprofit, religious or other community group.

The Northridge West Neighborhood Council's board meets online on Oct. 13 on an agenda that lists a possible recommendation on an open-container wine tasting bar kiosk outside the Northridge Fashion Center, 9301 Tampa Avenue, which its land use committee voted 2-0 on Oct. 5 to send to the board, an update on a proposed skilled nursing facility conversion at 9644 Claire Avenue, a grant of up to $1,600 to the Friends of the Northridge Library and up to $200 for flyers to Claire Avenue homeowners. The agenda says about 35 residents of the Claire Avenue neighborhood attended the council's Oct. 6 joint executive and board meeting. The council's website now posts the minutes of its Aug. 12 special meeting, at which the board approved its 2026-27 administrative packet 6-0 (Aug. 12 meeting page). The September 8 board agenda included a grant of up to $5,000 to the North Valley YMCA for Thanksgiving baskets, up to $2,000 to SOLID for LAPD Devonshire Division records room furniture, and moving $2,076.13 in rolled-over funds to community improvement projects. It also listed appointments of three applicants to open board seats and the selection of 2026-27 officers.
