Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council
The Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council covers Sun Valley, in the northeast San Fernando Valley, in Council Districts 2 and 6. Its bylaws set the boundaries by map and give it 24 board seats. Under the City's Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils, anyone who lives, works or owns property in the area is a stakeholder, as is anyone who declares a community interest there through a school, nonprofit, religious or other community group.

The Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council's board meets Oct. 13 at the Sun Valley Youth Arts Center on an agenda that lists Community Impact Statements supporting five council files, including Council File 25-1083 on the effects of SB 79 and Council File 26-1280 on a citywide vacant property abatement program, the appointment of Leanna N. Weir to a residential seat, and nine spending motions totaling $2,537.34 (our sum) for cleanups, emergency preparedness events, a turkey giveaway and outreach items. The board's September 8 agenda listed a letter asking Mayor Karen Bass and Councilmember Imelda Padilla to seek County help preparing for El Niño storms near the Tujunga Wash on San Fernando Road and the Tuxford Street project site. Its August 11 agenda listed a statement to support Council File 26-0906-S4, on CERT training for Neighborhood Council members, only if amended. Its July 14 agenda listed a statement on the proposed tax on private golf courses and country clubs and letters on promotional signs and traffic cameras on Bradley Avenue.
