Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council · Held
Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council meeting, August 11, 2026
From official records: The Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council's board agenda for Aug. 11, 2026 listed a letter, resolution or Community Impact Statement to support, only if amended, Council File 26-0906-S4 on mandatory CERT training, renewal of the Concept To Web contract at up to $200 a month, and a tree care event and two community cleanups with $450 budgeted for food and drinks (our sum). No Sun Valley Area statement is on CF 26-0906-S4, which the City Council adopted as amended on Aug. 19, 2026. Minutes were not on the City's agenda index, attached to the Sept. 8 board agenda that lists them for approval, or on the council's agendas and minutes page as of Oct. 1, 2026, so the votes are not known.
As of October 2, 2026, outcomes for the August 11, 2026 meeting of the Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council come from official records posted so far, such as council files, recorded votes and filed statements. Some results may be missing until the full minutes are posted and read.

12. Concept To Web contract renewal
- What it asks: Renew the contract with Concept To Web LLC “for Aaron Devandry’s services”: website hosting and content, social media, email, an event calendar, a stakeholder email list and email blasts, a newsletter, and online posting of agendas, minutes and monthly expenditure reports (agenda).
- Amount: A recurring monthly payment not to exceed $200 (agenda). Over 12 months that is up to $2,400, our calculation.
16. CERT training for neighborhood council boards
- What it asks: A letter, resolution or Community Impact Statement “to support only if amended for Council File 26-0906-S4 regarding mandatory CERT training”, listed under Chávez. The agenda does not state the amendment sought (agenda).
- Council file: CF 26-0906-S4 is a motion by Ysabel Jurado, seconded by Monica Rodriguez. It asked the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, with the Fire Department, for a report with recommendations “to require the majority of all Neighborhood Council board members to obtain and maintain certification with LAFD’s CERT Program” (motion).
- What happened: No Sun Valley Area Community Impact Statement appears on the file as of Oct. 1, 2026 (CF 26-0906-S4).
- What’s next: The City Council adopted the item as amended on Aug. 19, 2026, 13-0 with John Lee and Hugo Soto-Martinez absent (Council action). The amending motion, by Jurado and Rodriguez, changed the request to a report with recommendations “to increase accessibility for” board members to obtain the certification and struck the words on exemptions and renewal requirements.
