Greater Valley Glen Council

Published October 1, 2026 · Updated October 3, 2026

The Greater Valley Glen Council covers Valley Glen in the southeast San Fernando Valley, including Los Angeles Valley College and Grant High School, per its About page and boundary map; it is in Council District 2. Under the City's Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils, anyone who lives, works or owns property in the area is a stakeholder, as is anyone who declares a community interest there through a school, nonprofit, religious or other community group.

Latest as of October 6, 2026

The Greater Valley Glen Council's board approved its July and August expenditure reports, 11-0 each, at a Sept. 14, 2026 special meeting, according to draft minutes. No candidates came forward for the vacant District 3 seat, and the draft minutes say an appointment made in August is void because there was no vacancy. The board's July 13 agenda included a contract with American Heritage Landscape of up to $10,200 a year to maintain the Victory Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue medians, and the parks committee report in the Sept. 14 draft minutes says a contract for biweekly maintenance was signed. The Oct. 5 board agenda listed a possible vote to fill the District 3 seat, the 2026-27 administrative packet and possible action on a new Chandler bike path.
