h.ii.1. Water truck for median saplings on Victory Boulevard
- What it asks: Hire a water truck for saplings on the Victory Boulevard south median between Goodland and Bluebell avenues. The motion says Urban Forestry planted the trees three years ago but no longer waters them because of budget cuts, and that the council’s contract with American Heritage does not cover watering them (agenda). The board amended it to an emergency motion for five oak saplings, citing the 2026 extreme heat and Urban Forestry’s statement that it does not have funds to water the trees (draft minutes).
- Amount: Up to $1,000 (agenda).
- What happened: Passed 13-0 as amended, with the youth representative listed as ineligible; moved by Sloan Myrick and seconded by Joanne D’Antonio (draft minutes).
