Venice Neighborhood Council

Published October 1, 2026 · Updated October 1, 2026

The Venice Neighborhood Council covers Venice, and nearly all of its area lies inside the City's Venice community plan area (NC boundary layer). Anyone who lives, works or owns real property in the area, or declares a stake in it as a community interest stakeholder, is a stakeholder (Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils).

Latest as of October 1, 2026

On Aug. 18 the board voted 10-5, with 2 abstentions, to support a Council motion asking City departments to report on tying funding for permanent supportive housing projects to background checks and behavioral-health assessments, and filed that position Aug. 23 (CF 26-0956). The same agenda included a motion opposing City Planning's 2026 East Venice community plan recommendations in favor of the council's own draft (agenda). The Sept. 15 agenda included support for Councilmember Traci Park's motion to study widening the Marvin Braude Bike Trail through Venice Beach before the 2028 Games (agenda).
