IX.B. Opposition to Missing Middle LA
- What it asks: A resolution opposing City Planning’s Missing Middle LA amendments (small-scale homes, small lot subdivisions and a starter home ordinance, plus design standards), citing up to six ADUs per lot and weaker front setbacks, and asking for a required 25% permeable deep-soil area per lot. It supports for-sale townhouses under SB 1123 and bungalow courts with 15-foot setbacks and 25% open space, and would go to the Mayor, CD 5, CD 13 and City Planning (agenda).
- Who brought it: The Land Use Committee (agenda).
IX.C. Letter on SB 1116
- What it asks: A letter urging the City to oppose SB 1116, which the agenda says would allow ministerial approval of small-lot subdivisions with smaller minimum lots and 4-foot rear setbacks, or amend it to allow discretionary review. The text adopts a June 15, 2026 statement by United Neighbors (agenda).
XIV.A. Youth seats and term limits (CF 24-0867)
- What it asks: Oppose CF 24-0867, a motion by Monica Rodriguez, seconded by Eunisses Hernandez (CF 24-0867), on youth seats and term limits for neighborhood councils, to the extent it would require them rather than permit them, and send the position to the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners’ survey due Oct. 31, 2026 (agenda).
- What happened: Passed 14-0, one abstaining; “Against” statement filed Sept. 10 (CIS).
XIV.B. CERT certification for board members (CF 26-0906-S4)
- What it asks: Oppose CF 26-0906-S4, a motion by Ysabel Jurado, seconded by Monica Rodriguez (CF 26-0906-S4), to the extent it would require CERT certification for board service, while supporting free, voluntary training. The agenda notes a majority of the council’s 21 seats would mean 11 or more members taking the 17.5-hour course (agenda).
- What happened: Passed 15-0; a statement marked “Against Unless Amended” was filed Sept. 11 (CIS).
