7.a. CERT certification for neighborhood council board members
- What it asks: Approve the Executive Committee’s recommendation to file a Community Impact Statement supporting CF 26-0906-S4 if it is amended to make Community Emergency Response Team certification voluntary for neighborhood council board members and to remove all inferences that board members would act as first responders (agenda).
- Council file: Ysabel Jurado moved the motion and Monica Rodriguez seconded. The committees’ report asks the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, with the Fire Department, for a report with recommendations on CERT certification for neighborhood council board members. The Council adopted the report as amended by Motion 15A (Jurado, Rodriguez) on Aug. 19, 2026, 13-0 with two members absent, six days before this meeting (CF 26-0906-S4).
- What happened: No Tarzana Community Impact Statement appears on CF 26-0906-S4 as of Oct. 1, 2026.
8.b. $8,950.25 rollover
- What it asks: Adopt the Budget Committee’s recommendation to add the rollover from the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026 to the budget for the year ending June 30, 2027, based on the City Clerk’s anticipated approval of the same amount. The money would increase the unallocated line (agenda). The item was on the committee’s Aug. 19 agenda.
- Amount: $8,950.25 (agenda).
14.a. Weekly street cleaning in Tarzana
- What it asks: Adopt the Beautification Committee’s recommendation to send a letter to Council member Bob Blumenfield, Council District 3, asking him to consider reinstating weekly street cleaning in Tarzana with the parking signage and enforcement to support it. The letter printed on the agenda says Tarzana’s street cleaning program has been cancelled while many other communities have weekly or biweekly service, and that public agencies can now operate automated parking enforcement systems on street sweepers (agenda). A letter on street cleaning was on the committee’s Aug. 6 agenda.
